Engineer Inventory Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineer – Inventory Management based in India.

As an Engineer – Inventory Management, you will support strategic inventory optimization initiatives by improving reuse processes, operational workflows, and cross-functional collaboration. You will work closely with engineering, supply chain, procurement, logistics, and product teams to increase efficiency and maximize inventory value. This role combines data analysis, process improvement, stakeholder management, and hands-on execution to drive measurable business outcomes. You will help identify opportunities, resolve operational challenges, and ensure successful adoption of inventory management practices across multiple product lines. Accountabilities:
  • Act as a dedicated inventory management focal point for assigned product teams, collaborating with engineering, material planning, logistics, finance, quality, and procurement stakeholders to improve inventory reuse and optimization.
  • Conduct regular reviews with product teams to identify opportunities, track progress, address adoption gaps, and support workflow execution.
  • Analyze inventory items, compare available inventory data with project requirements, evaluate reuse feasibility, and guide stakeholders through the required processes.
  • Perform data preprocessing activities by gathering, consolidating, and analyzing information from multiple sources to support efficient inventory decisions.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for inventory reuse challenges, including technical feasibility concerns, supplier-related delays, purchase order issues, and process questions.
  • Support issue resolution through collaboration with digital teams, including tool troubleshooting, user acceptance testing, and workflow performance monitoring.
  • Support end-to-end inventory reuse processes by monitoring workflows, identifying bottlenecks, and driving continuous process improvements.
  • Track adoption metrics, workflow performance, reuse value, quantities, and cycle times while preparing dashboards and reports for leadership reviews.
  • Analyze trends, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend targeted actions such as training, awareness initiatives, and process enhancements.
  • Support training sessions, knowledge sharing, communication initiatives, and recognition programs to encourage adoption across teams.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, documentation, parameter databases, templates, and governance materials to support operational excellence and audit readiness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
  • 3–6 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, supply chain, engineering, inventory management, or related fields.
  • Experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, material planning, BOM/product configuration, or manufacturing environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to energy, oil & gas, rotating equipment, heavy engineering, or similar industries is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to work with large datasets, inventory databases, BOM structures, and financial information to generate actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and supply chain workflows with a process-oriented approach and attention to detail.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across different regions.
  • Proficiency with digital productivity tools such as advanced Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, and workflow management platforms.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or similar platforms is preferred, along with the ability to quickly learn new digital tools.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and take ownership of outcomes.
  • Basic understanding of Lean principles, continuous improvement, and waste reduction methodologies is preferred.
  • Self-motivated, target-oriented, and proactive approach to driving operational improvements.
