Position Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator for Ecoservices in Hammond, IN is responsible for the execution and tracking of truck and railcar shipments, maintaining accurate shipping records, communicating with customers, and ensuring proper billing and documentation. This role serves as a vital liaison between logistics, operations, and customers to ensure efficient and compliant product movement. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently are critical to success in this position.
What you will be doing:
• Obtain paperwork and shipping instructions for truck and railcar shipments
• Collect and manage data on product quantities, specs, and load/unload schedules
• Create daily driver self-loading packets
• Electronically enter shipping and billing information for outbound acid products
• Email Certificates of Analysis and billing details to customers for each shipment
• Manage customer orders using SAP and verify product movement
• Monitor customer inventory and schedule deliveries to maintain required levels
• Assist with customer complaints and resolve billing discrepancies
• Cross-train with Administrative Assistant on daily rail switching and loading tasks
• Handle spent receipt entry and raw material receiving
• Maintain treatment services and safety department records
• Input shipment data and finalize Bills of Lading
• Complete DOT HAZMAT training and adhere to compliance standards
Required Qualifications:
• One-year technical school certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience, including military experience
• 5+ years of experience in truck and rail logistics strongly preferred
• Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, Lotus Notes, and Exchange
• Strong attention to detail with excellent accuracy and time management skills
• Comfortable working in a physically active environment, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 10 lbs
• Able to work in varying environmental conditions (heat, chemicals, mechanical parts)
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
