Promerus is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Bakelite, a pioneer in plastics with over 7,000 employees and $2B in annual sales. Promerus is involved in the development of a novel platform of polymers based on cyclic olefins that are polymerized using a propriety class of organometallic catalysts. Application areas include the semiconductor, optoelectronic and electronic packaging markets. General Purpose:

Product Development: Contributes to the development of new materials and products that meet customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

Participates in customer facing projectsPlans and conducts experiments to demonstrate new conceptsDelivers feasibility samples and pre-production prototypes for customer evaluation Supportive Functions:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions based on business needs:

Maintains good housekeeping and resolves any identified safety issues in all work areasOrders supplies needed to complete work processesAssists with waste disposalMaintains awareness of how the position supports the Quality Management System, and participates in quality related activities such as audits and quality improvement teams as necessaryParticipates in safety program activities and presentationsPrepares materials for shipment to customers

Education/Experience Guidelines:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field0-3 years of related experienceProduct Development:Experience with formulation development
