The Challenge:This position is NOT just for anyone
The Fuel Advisor will provide services for new and existing customers to grow our retail and commercial fuel sales. You are responsible for using knowledge and experience to resolve customer issues. You will work closely with our customers to assist them in achieving their goals. You must be self-motivated and work independently.
The travel requirement for this role is up to 80%.
Whom you are working with:Primarily you work alongside the Sales team. However, you will work with every department in AFD on a regular basis, and of course your customers.

- Build strong relationships with current and prospective customers, with a focus on winning new accounts and expanding existing ones.
- Record all sales activity and customer interactions in AFD’s CRM to maintain accurate and up-to-date pipelines.
- Represent AFD at trade shows, conferences, and industry events as needed.
- Stay current on industry trends, market shifts, and new opportunities.
- Manage customer concerns by coordinating timely complaint resolution and technical support.
- Gather and analyze market data to identify growth opportunities and inform sales strategies.
- Review branch financial statements to monitor performance and support cost-effective decision-making
- Focus on acquiring new commercial and retail accounts
- Evaluate customer’s needs
- Visit current and potential customers to promote AFD as their sole provider of fuel and lubricants
- Track all sales calls on approved tracking sheets
- Work with the Sales Manager and Business Development Manager to develop Dealer offerings and marketing materials.
- Complete ROI analysis and determine product feasibility based on Company return models
- Other related duties as required or assigned.
- 5+ years’ experience in a sales or customer service role
- Post-Secondary Degree in Business Management preferred
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in transportation, fuel or oil and gas industry considered an asset.
- Knowledge of business organization and practices
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and e-mail required
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
