Northwest Eyes is a progressive medical and surgical ophthalmology practice searching for a Medical Assistant to add to our Northgate team. Requirements:
  • Provides individualized and specialized nursing care to patients in the ambulatory surgery center in accordance with physicians’ orders, recognized nursing standards, and legal aspects of current nursing practices within the state and the center’s policies and procedures.
  • Admit and prepare the patient for surgery, including taking and recording vital signs; recognize when to escalate findings to the Nurse.
  • Document in the patient record and EHR
  • Comply with procedures, regulations, and rules in maintaining medical records.
  • Train and practice knowledge of asepsis, infection control, and sterilization
  • Abide by all company and compliance policies and procedures, including HIPAA, OSHA/WISHA, Patient confidentiality, and insurance requirements.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique as it applies to the operating room preferred
  • Safe positioning of patients when required.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the team before such needs arise.
  • Demonstrate excellence in communication skills- demonstrated ability to convey ideas and information verbally and in writing.
  • Exhibit initiative and the ability to work independently when necessary and perform as part of a larger team in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Current CPR is mandatory
  • Surgical Technician Registration, Medical Assistant Certification, or Certified Nursing Assistant is required
  • 1 year of medical experience preferred
