Sr. Test Engineer

The Senior Test Engineer will be responsible for hands-on validation of IoT, HVAC, BLE-enabled embedded products across firmware devices, connectivity, mobile application and cloud/API. The role requires suitable candidate with 4 to 8 years of experience in embedded product manual testing and test automation, with the ability to independently design test cases, execute manual and automated tests, analyse failures, and contribute to release readiness. The engineer will work closely with firmware, hardware, cloud, mobile app, and program teams to ensure reliable product behaviour.

Responsibilities :
  • Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, test execution reports, and other supporting documents on the projects tested.
  • Perform functional, regression, system, integration, interoperability, performance, reliability, and release validation testing across device, firmware, mobile app and cloud APIs
  • Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Python/ suitable automation tools for embedded, device-level, API, and regression test coverage, including CI/CD integration where applicable.
  • Set up and maintain test environments comprising lab equipment, hardware- simulators, protocol analysers, sniffers, power measurement tools, and environmental test chambers that are required for embedded and connected-product validation.
  • Analyse failures, capture logs/traces, isolate defects, support root-cause analysis, track issues to closure using defect-management tools, and work closely with firmware, hardware, cloud, mobile app, product, and program teams for timely resolution.
  • Review requirements, software specifications, architecture/design inputs, and user scenarios to improve test coverage, traceability, risk-based testing, and verification of release criteria.
  • Ensure adherence to software quality processes, test documentation standards, Agile/Scrum practices, and organizational release-readiness requirements.
Qualifications/Skills :
  • BE/BTech in E&C / E&E/Instrumentation Engineering
  • 4 to 8 years of industry experience in testing
  • Hands on experience on Embedded product (STLC), microcontroller and microprocessor knowledge is essential. Test experience on BLE, IoT devices are must
  • Hands on Test Automation is must on embedded platform and Python Scripting experience is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of analog /digital hardware, C and assembly awareness is desirable
  • Good computer skills along with an understanding of basic hardware tools
  • Knowledge of using the Linux based tool and test exposure to devices such as HVAC, sensors, STB etc will be an added advantage
