Description:
This is a true on-call floating position. We are seeking caregivers who can be available to work any shift, any day of the week, including weekends, holidays, daytime, evening, overnight, and last-minute call-off coverage.
The ideal candidate has a flexible schedule and is willing to pick up shifts as staffing needs arise across multiple locations. Dependability, responsiveness, and availability are critical for this role.
As an On-Call Floating Caregiver, you will provide coverage for open shifts, call-ins, vacations, and emergency staffing needs. You will work with various residents and homes while delivering high-quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care and personal assistance to residents
- Support residents with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Administer medications and maintain accurate records
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary
- Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Assist with mobility, transfers, and ambulation
- Provide companionship and emotional support
- Accompany residents to medical appointments and community activities
- Observe and report health or behavioral changes
- Follow care plans and company policies and procedures
IMPORTANT: FLEXIBILITY REQUIRED
Requirements:- Must have open availability and be willing to work any shift (days, evenings, overnights), any day of the week, including weekends, holidays, and short-notice staffing needs.
- Previous caregiving experience preferred.
- Completion of 15 hours of caregiver training prior to the first day of work, with a commitment to obtaining 8 additional training hours annually.
- Ability to follow care plans, document services accurately, and work effectively under supervision.
- Strong communication, time management, problem-solving, and observational skills.
- Ability to recognize and report changes in resident health, behavior, or safety concerns.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, compassion, dependability, and professionalism when working with residents with diverse support needs.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a care team and receive feedback constructively.
- Physical ability to assist residents with mobility needs, including standing, bending, transferring, and lifting up to 50 pounds (training provided).
- Reliable transportation required, along with a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and active auto insurance.
- Ability to travel between assigned homes or care locations as needed.
- Must pass all required background checks and meet Wisconsin caregiver requirements.
- Must provide documentation of a negative communicable disease screening or a negative test result completed within the last 90 days.
- Ability to adapt to various home and residential care settings while maintaining a high standard of care.
