Director/Senior Director - Consulting (HEOR)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director/Senior Director - Consulting (HEOR) based in United States.

This senior consulting role focuses on helping life sciences organizations demonstrate the value of innovative medical advances.
You will advise clients on health economics and outcomes research, value strategy, market access, and evidence generation.
The position combines deep HEOR expertise with strategic consulting, commercial thinking, and client leadership.
You will guide complex engagements spanning early pipeline assets, product launches, HTA strategy, and post-approval differentiation.
The role also offers opportunities to shape proposals, develop strategic partnerships, and contribute to industry thought leadership.
You will work with multidisciplinary teams of health economists, analysts, statisticians, and market access specialists.
Success requires strong scientific and commercial judgment, executive-level communication, and the ability to translate complex evidence into actionable recommendations.

Accountabilities:
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to multidisciplinary teams supporting US-based life sciences clients across HEOR, value, access, and outcomes engagements.
  • Lead or advise on early value strategy and HEOR services for pipeline assets, particularly products in Phase 2 and earlier development stages.
  • Support global value demonstration projects and US payer launch readiness initiatives.
  • Guide the translation of value evidence into compelling communications, including US value and AMCP formulary dossiers, global value dossiers, payer-facing presentations, and supporting tools.
  • Provide strategic and technical expertise on US economic modeling projects, including budget impact and cost-effectiveness models.
  • Advise clients on US HTA strategy, engagement, and technical submissions, including ICER, BCBSA Evidence Street, and regional or local payer HTA requirements.
  • Support post-approval product differentiation strategies and HEOR initiatives designed to strengthen market positioning.
  • Build and leverage relationships across US life sciences, pharmacy, and managed care networks to identify new client opportunities, RFPs, and strategic partnerships.
  • Contribute to the development of compelling client proposals and participate as a senior strategic advisor during client discussions and presentations.
  • Strengthen industry thought leadership through participation in relevant HEOR organizations, committees, conferences, and professional meetings such as ISPOR and AMCP.
  • Contribute to white papers and other industry-facing content that demonstrates technical expertise and strategic insight.
  • Develop strategic networks and partnerships that support innovation, service development, and continued market leadership.
  • Lead teams and engagements of significant size and complexity while maintaining appropriate project scope, schedules, budgets, quality, and profitability.
  • Identify strategic recommendations from complex scientific, economic, and commercial information and communicate them clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Significant professional experience within the life sciences industry, consulting, or a closely related environment.
  • Relevant degree in a scientific discipline from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Deep expertise in at least one HEOR solution or discipline, combined with the ability to apply that expertise through a commercially focused and consultative approach.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering projects of significant size, scope, and strategic importance.
  • Proven ability to develop, price, and execute profitable client engagements while balancing client value and commercial objectives.
  • Strong understanding of HEOR, value demonstration, market access, US payer considerations, economic modeling, and/or HTA strategy.
  • Experience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and client expectations in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Excellent conceptual and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to turn complex evidence into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific, economic, and commercial data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong client engagement and relationship-building skills, particularly with senior stakeholders across life sciences, pharmacy, and managed care organizations.
  • Demonstrated business development capabilities, including proposal development, opportunity identification, networking, and partnership building.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence advising clients and representing the organization externally.
  • Commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in interactions with colleagues, clients, partners, and other stakeholders.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary with bonus opportunities.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
  • Generous annual paid time off.
  • 10 paid holidays.
  • Flexible spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care.
  • Health savings account option with employer contributions.
  • Employee Assistance Program.
  • Paid short-term and long-term disability coverage.
  • Comprehensive benefits designed to support health and well-being, financial security, professional development, and work-life balance.
