Job Description

Senior Frontend Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer based in Spain.

In this role, you will help shape and evolve a high-traffic, multi-country marketplace platform that connects millions of users with trusted service professionals. You will be part of a pivotal transformation as the product moves from a lead-generation model to a fully fledged subscription-based marketplace. This is a hands-on engineering role where you will build and refine large-scale React applications used globally, directly influencing product experience, architecture, and technical direction. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers in a fast-moving, product-led environment. The work combines greenfield development with modernisation of existing systems, offering strong ownership and technical impact. You will join a profitable, scaling organisation where engineering quality and experimentation play a key role in growth.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for building and maintaining high-quality frontend applications that deliver fast, accessible, and seamless user experiences at scale. You will contribute to both feature development and long-term architectural improvements of a rapidly evolving product ecosystem.

  • Build, maintain, and enhance responsive, high-performance frontend applications using React and TypeScript
  • Translate UX/UI designs into production-ready interfaces across multiple devices and browsers
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to develop prototypes, MVPs, and A/B testing experiences
  • Optimise frontend performance, accessibility, and usability across high-traffic user journeys
  • Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, including tooling, structure, and scalability improvements
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code while proactively improving engineering standards
  • Support and mentor other engineers, sharing best practices and encouraging code quality across the team
Requirements:

You bring strong experience in modern frontend engineering, with deep expertise in React and a track record of building scalable, user-focused web applications. You are comfortable working in fast-paced product environments and contributing to technical decision-making.

  • 5+ years of experience in frontend development with large-scale frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar)
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with React in production environments
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
  • Solid understanding of component-based architecture and frontend design patterns
  • Experience building responsive, interactive web applications at scale
  • Familiarity with performance optimisation and accessibility best practices
  • Experience working in collaborative product teams alongside designers and product managers
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Benefits:
  • Fully remote role within Spain
  • Opportunity to work on a high-scale international marketplace platform
  • Strong ownership and influence over frontend architecture and product direction
  • Fast-moving, product-led engineering culture with space for experimentation
  • Collaboration with experienced product, design, and engineering teams
  • Exposure to modern frontend tooling and evolving architecture patterns
  • Competitive compensation aligned with experience
  • Inclusive and diverse working environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation
