This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Media Strategy based in the United States.
This role sits at the center of digital media planning, programmatic strategy, and revenue optimization within a fast-evolving AdTech environment. You will act as the strategic owner of media planning across the full client lifecycle, from pre-sales qualification through campaign execution and performance optimization. The position requires a deep understanding of programmatic advertising, audience strategy, and omnichannel media execution across display, video, CTV, and emerging digital formats. You will partner closely with sales and account teams to ensure media strategies are commercially viable, technically sound, and aligned with platform capabilities. In addition, you will oversee execution teams to ensure campaigns are delivered with consistency, efficiency, and measurable impact. This is a highly cross-functional leadership role combining strategic advisory, technical expertise, and team mentorship. It is ideal for someone who thrives in complex media environments and enjoys shaping both strategy and execution at scale.
- Lead end-to-end media strategy development across the client lifecycle, including pre-sales qualification, planning, execution oversight, and performance evaluation.
- Partner with sales teams to audit, scope, and validate client briefs, ensuring alignment with platform capabilities, inventory access, and revenue objectives.
- Own media plan integrity across inventory selection, audience strategy, channel mix, and campaign structure.
- Act as a subject matter expert for programmatic and omnichannel media, including CTV, display, video, search, and social.
- Oversee deal evaluation and margin analysis in collaboration with revenue leadership to ensure commercially viable campaign structures.
- Manage and mentor execution teams, ensuring strategic consistency from planning through activation, optimization, and reporting.
- Identify and address platform or process gaps, contributing insights to product and engineering teams to improve long-term capabilities.
- Develop frameworks, training materials, and best practices to improve media planning quality and execution consistency.
- Ensure campaign governance, data integrity, and performance alignment across all active accounts.
- 7+ years of experience in digital media strategy, programmatic advertising, or media planning roles within AdTech or agency environments.
- Strong expertise in media platforms such as Google Ads and Meta Business Suite, with advanced knowledge of programmatic DSPs (e.g., The Trade Desk).
- Proven experience in developing and executing omnichannel media strategies across CTV, video, display, and digital platforms.
- Strong understanding of attribution models, media measurement, and performance optimization frameworks.
- Ability to translate complex media and performance data into clear strategic recommendations for both technical and executive audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing or mentoring media or campaign execution teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights and strategy to senior stakeholders, including C-level clients.
- Experience with certifications such as Google Ads, GA4, or Meta Blueprint is highly desirable.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in fast-paced, data-driven environments.
- Competitive salary range of $125,000 – $150,000 USD
