Cyber Advisor, Managed Security

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Cyber Advisor, Managed Security based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of cybersecurity expertise, client advisory, and insurance-driven risk management, supporting a rapidly growing InsurSec environment focused on protecting small and mid-sized businesses from evolving digital threats. The Cyber Advisor will work directly with policyholders to assess cyber risk, identify vulnerabilities, and guide the implementation of practical, scalable security improvements. Acting as a trusted security partner, you will translate complex threat intelligence into clear, actionable recommendations that strengthen clients’ overall security posture. The role combines hands-on technical analysis with strategic advisory work, requiring close collaboration with underwriting, claims, research, and security teams. You will also play a key role in shaping cybersecurity service delivery and influencing how risk mitigation is communicated across the customer base. This is a high-impact position where technical insight directly contributes to reducing real-world cyber risk at scale.

Accountabilities:

The Cyber Advisor will be responsible for delivering cybersecurity advisory services to insured clients while helping strengthen overall risk mitigation strategies and service delivery frameworks. The role combines technical cybersecurity analysis with client-facing advisory responsibilities.

  • Engage directly with policyholders to assess cyber risks, provide guidance, and improve overall security posture
  • Analyze security data and threat indicators to identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
  • Support the development and scaling of cybersecurity services across insured client segments
  • Act as a liaison between clients and internal teams including underwriting, claims, research, and security operations
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, intrusion analysis, and risk evaluations using security tools and datasets
  • Deliver clear, actionable reports and recommendations tailored to client environments and risk profiles
  • Collaborate on the design of scalable cybersecurity frameworks and risk reduction initiatives
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, market messaging, and continuous improvement of advisory practices
Requirements

This role requires strong hands-on cybersecurity experience combined with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. The ideal candidate is analytical, client-focused, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

  • 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security consulting, or cyber risk advisory roles
  • Strong knowledge of threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and incident response practices
  • Experience working with EDR tools, network security analysis, and log/data interpretation
  • Ability to analyze attack patterns, identify vulnerabilities, and propose remediation strategies
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, privacy principles, and risk management practices
  • Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders in an advisory or consulting capacity
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical findings into business impact
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience interpreting security data and trends
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
