This role sits at the core of a global technology environment, ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of mission-critical database systems that power enterprise applications. You will be responsible for supporting and maintaining SQL Server environments across highly available and distributed infrastructures. The position involves hands-on troubleshooting, performance tuning, and incident resolution in a 24/7 support model. You will act as a key escalation point for complex database issues, working closely with development and infrastructure teams to ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance. The environment is dynamic and highly collaborative, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities. You will also contribute to knowledge sharing, process improvement, and operational excellence across the support function. - Provide 24/7 operational support for SQL Server database environments, ensuring high availability and minimal service disruption across global systems.
- Install, configure, patch, and maintain SQL Server databases, including backup, restore, security management, and performance optimization.
- Monitor database performance using standard tools, identify bottlenecks, and resolve complex technical incidents and recurring issues.
- Serve as an escalation point for critical database-related problems, coordinating with development, infrastructure, and cross-functional teams.
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on production incidents and implement preventive measures to improve system stability.
- Document technical procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions, and contribute to internal knowledge base development.
- Support high-availability architectures including clustering, AlwaysOn configurations, and cloud or hybrid database environments.
- Mentor junior team members and support continuous improvement of operational processes and support practices.
- 1–3 years of experience in database administration or production support, with strong exposure to Microsoft SQL Server environments.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server installation, configuration, patching, backup/restore, and database security management.
- Strong knowledge of T-SQL and preferably scripting skills using PowerShell or equivalent automation tools.
- Understanding of high availability solutions such as AlwaysOn, clustering, and enterprise-grade database architectures.
- Familiarity with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization/cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Experience using monitoring and troubleshooting tools for system and application performance analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent incidents effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with global teams in a 24/7 support environment.
- Microsoft SQL Server certification is a plus.
