Job Description

QA Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a QA Engineer based in Switzerland.

This is an exciting opportunity for a quality-focused professional to play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and stability of a cutting-edge technology platform. Working in a fully remote environment, you will take ownership of testing activities across software releases, helping identify issues before they reach production. The role combines hands-on manual testing with the development of automated quality assurance processes, offering significant impact on product quality and user experience. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to validate new features, verify fixes, and improve release confidence. Ideal for someone who enjoys investigating complex systems, reproducing issues, and building robust testing practices, this position offers autonomy, technical challenges, and the opportunity to influence product excellence from day one.

Accountabilities
  • Own the testing and validation of new software releases, ensuring features and updates meet quality standards before deployment.
  • Perform comprehensive manual testing across applications, APIs, command-line tools, backend services, and user-facing workflows.
  • Execute test scenarios in local, staging, and pre-production environments to identify defects, inconsistencies, and performance issues.
  • Create detailed bug reports including reproduction steps, expected outcomes, actual results, logs, screenshots, and supporting evidence.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers to understand release changes, prioritize testing efforts, verify fixes, and support production readiness.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing solutions for recurring validation processes, including end-to-end, smoke, and regression testing.
  • Contribute to release checklists, testing documentation, and quality assurance best practices to improve overall software reliability.
  • Monitor software behavior across versions and ensure critical workflows remain stable and functional after updates.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance, software testing, release validation, or a related role.
  • Strong expertise in manual testing, including test case creation, defect identification, bug reproduction, and issue documentation.
  • Experience testing technical products such as APIs, backend systems, infrastructure components, developer tools, or distributed applications.
  • Comfort working with command-line interfaces, logs, scripts, local development environments, and staging environments.
  • Familiarity with automated testing methodologies, regression testing, smoke testing, end-to-end testing, and scripting.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset and commitment to maintaining high release quality standards.
  • Experience with blockchain technologies, financial platforms, distributed systems, databases, cloud environments, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, or API testing tools is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of scripting or programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, Go, Rust, or Bash is a plus.
Benefits
  • Fully remote position with the flexibility to work from your preferred location.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Additional token and equity participation opportunities.
  • High level of ownership and autonomy over quality assurance processes and release management.
  • Opportunity to make a significant impact within a fast-growing and ambitious engineering environment.
  • Exposure to complex distributed systems, modern infrastructure, and innovative technology challenges.
  • Close collaboration with highly skilled technical professionals.
  • Professional growth opportunities through challenging projects and evolving responsibilities.
  • Occasional travel opportunities for team gatherings, offsites, and industry events.
