This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Payroll & Benefits Administrator based in the United States.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining the integrity of payroll, benefits, and contractor data across multiple systems. You will oversee end-to-end payroll operations, supporting both hourly and salaried cycles while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The position also involves managing employee benefits administration, vendor coordination, and system data accuracy across HR platforms.
You will serve as a key point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on payroll, deductions, benefits enrollment, and related inquiries.
In addition, you will support contractor lifecycle administration and international payment processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance across HRIS tools.
The role blends operational execution with analytical problem-solving, offering exposure to payroll systems, benefits platforms, and process improvement initiatives.
This is a highly detail-oriented, cross-functional role where accuracy, discretion, and strong communication are essential in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Manage end-to-end U.S. payroll processing (hourly and salaried), ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Administer payroll deductions, garnishments, tax levies, employment verifications, and support payroll audits, reconciliations, and year-end activities.
- Oversee contractor administration, including HRIS recordkeeping, status changes, renewals, terminations, and payment processing via external platforms.
- Serve as system administrator support for payroll and contractor platforms, ensuring data integrity, reporting accuracy, and process optimization.
- Support employee benefits administration including enrollment, open enrollment configuration, vendor file feeds, and issue resolution.
- Manage compliance processes including ACA reporting, unemployment claims, leave administration tracking, and regulatory documentation.
- Generate payroll, benefits, and HR reports while identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- 3+ years of payroll and benefits administration experience in a multi-state environment.
- Hands-on experience processing payroll in ADP Workforce Now, including hourly payroll cycles.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax compliance, ACA requirements, garnishments, and benefits regulations.
- Experience supporting employee benefits programs and working with external vendors and carriers.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ability to analyze and reconcile complex data sets.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain strict attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to support employees and collaborate across HR, Finance, and Operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience with HRIS systems and exposure to tools such as Deel or international payroll systems is a plus.
