Senior Manager, Global Payment Partnerships

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, Global Payment Partnerships based in United States.

This role is a high-impact leadership position responsible for shaping and scaling global payment partnerships that enable seamless transactions across international markets. The role sits at the intersection of strategy, product, operations, and technology, driving collaboration with major payment processors, networks, and banking partners. It plays a critical part in expanding market coverage, optimizing payment performance, and reducing processing costs while ensuring a reliable customer experience. The position requires close coordination with engineering, product, finance, legal, and risk teams, as well as senior external stakeholders. It is a highly strategic, cross-functional environment where execution, negotiation, and relationship management directly influence global growth and operational efficiency.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and execute the global payments partnership strategy across key processors, networks, banks, and technology providers.
  • Build and manage strategic relationships with external partners, ensuring alignment on performance, integration, and growth objectives.
  • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and commercial agreements to optimize cost structures and improve competitiveness.
  • Define and enforce SLAs, KPIs, and performance standards while monitoring partner delivery and compliance.
  • Drive end-to-end implementation of new payment solutions, coordinating technical integration, product requirements, and operational readiness.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with strategic partners, ensuring continuous performance improvement and alignment.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Operations to deliver scalable payment solutions.
  • Identify market expansion opportunities and ensure appropriate payment coverage across regions, methods, and customer needs.
  • Support incident management and escalation resolution in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize payment processes, fees, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and reliability.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in payments partnerships, program management, business operations, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in people leadership and team management roles.
  • Strong background in managing complex external partnerships with payment providers, banks, or technology platforms.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale technical and cross-functional projects in high-growth environments.
  • Strong understanding of payment ecosystems, product strategy, and operational scaling through partnerships.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of managing commercial agreements and pricing structures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior executives.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments with competing priorities.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, SaaS, or high-growth technology companies is strongly preferred.
