Seasonal Remote Customer Service Representative

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Seasonal Remote Customer Service Representative based in the United States.

This seasonal remote role supports tax professionals by providing reliable technical and customer service assistance throughout the busy tax season.
You will help customers troubleshoot software issues, identify root causes, and navigate solutions across phone, email, and live chat.
The position combines technical problem-solving with a strong customer-first mindset and empathetic communication.
You will document interactions carefully, follow established support procedures, and collaborate with colleagues when issues require additional expertise.
The role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced, service-focused environment supporting widely used tax technology.
This full-time seasonal assignment runs from November through April and is fully remote across eligible U.S. locations.
Success requires dependable attendance, strong communication skills, technical confidence, and a genuine commitment to helping customers.

Accountabilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, research, and resolve technical questions from tax professionals through phone, email, and live chat, providing timely and accurate solutions.

  • Interview customers to understand issues, identify root causes, and guide them through appropriate troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures.

  • Manage the full support process for assigned inquiries, including problem recognition, investigation, resolution, documentation, and follow-up.

  • Partner with designated team members on complex issues that require advanced technical or product support.

  • Accurately document customer interactions, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions to support follow-up and continuous improvement.

  • Deliver friendly, empathetic, and professional service that builds trust and strengthens the overall customer experience.

  • Follow established procedures, best practices, scripts, and management guidance to ensure consistent service quality.

  • Maintain reliable attendance and consistently adhere to assigned schedules and shifts.

Requirements
  • High school diploma, GED, relevant training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience in a call-center environment, preferably supporting software or technology products.

  • Strong proficiency with essential computer applications and accurate data-entry skills.

  • Previous experience in telemarketing, retail, customer relations, or a comparable customer-facing environment is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including clear articulation, active listening, and a professional telephone presence.

  • Strong customer-service skills with the ability to establish rapport and demonstrate patience, empathy, and courtesy.

  • Strong reading comprehension and critical-thinking abilities, with the capacity to understand customer issues and determine appropriate solutions.

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems methodically while managing multiple customer interactions and priorities.

  • Dependable, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.

  • Willingness to follow established processes while adapting to evolving customer and business needs.
