Job Description

Company: RedPeg Marketing
Location: Every market in the United States. Occasional work in Canada.
Type: Part-time, hourly, W-2. Shift-by-shift. You choose what you take.
Department: Field / ExperientialYou have probably already walked past our work.
The line that moved faster than you expected. The sample handed to you at exactly the right moment. The photo you actually kept and posted. Somebody made that happen, and at RedPeg, that somebody is a Brand Ambassador.
RedPeg is an independent experiential marketing agency headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. We have been building live brand experiences since 1995 for Marriott Bonvoy, GEICO, Meta, Capital One, In-N-Out Burger, Yuengling, Bandai Namco, Lavazza, Big Brothers Big Sisters and a long list of others. Our work shows up at festivals, stadiums and arenas, comic cons and gaming conventions, concert tours, college campuses, retail centers, farm tours, street takeovers and mobile tours that cross the country.
None of it works without great people on the ground. That is the job.

Let's be direct about what this is
This is gig work, and we mean that in the best way. You are not signing up for a set schedule or a 40-hour week. You pick up shifts when you have availability, and you pass on the ones you don't want. There is no minimum, no quota and no penalty for saying no.
It is also real employment. Brand Ambassadors at RedPeg are hourly W-2 employees, not 1099 contractors. Taxes are withheld, you are covered by workers' compensation, and you are paid on a regular payroll cycle. Pay rate varies by market, role and event, and the rate is always listed on the shift before you accept it.
Shifts range from a few hours to multi-day programs. Some are one-offs. Some are tours that run for weeks. Most are nights, weekends and event days, which is exactly why this works so well alongside something else.

What you would actually be doing
Every event is built a little differently, but most roles fall into a handful of buckets:
Line queue. Keeping the wait fun, setting expectations, moving people through and making sure nobody feels forgotten.
Product specialist. Learning a brand or a product well enough to talk about it naturally, answer real questions and hand people a reason to care.
Photo operations. Running photo and video moments, staging guests, capturing the shot and getting it to them fast.
Production assistant. The setup, the breakdown, the load-in, the inventory, the hundred things that make the front-of-house look effortless.
General event support. Sampling, giveaways, premium distribution, crowd flow, guest services, check-in and whatever else the day calls for.
You will get a brief before every shift. You will never be dropped somewhere without knowing what you are doing.

This is a great fit if you are
A college student studying marketing, communications, hospitality or business who wants real agency work on a resume instead of another unpaid internship. A teacher looking for weekend and summer income. An actor, musician, dancer or performer picking things up between roles. Service industry, freelance, retired, between jobs or just someone with open Saturdays and good energy.
We hire in big markets and small ones. New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, DC, Orlando, Cleveland, Dallas, Atlanta, Phoenix, Denver, Seattle, Nashville, Detroit, San Antonio and plenty of places people forget to recruit in. If a brand goes there, we go there.

What we look for
Show up on time. Do what you said you would do. Be comfortable starting conversations with strangers and keep your energy up for the length of the shift.
Beyond that, the practical requirements: you must be at least 18 years old, legally authorized to work in the United States, able to stand and walk for extended periods, able to lift up to 35 pounds, and have reliable transportation to and from event sites. Most programs require a background check, and some require signing a client NDA. Outdoor events happen in whatever weather shows up.
Prior promotional, retail, hospitality, service or event experience helps. It is not required. We have trained plenty of great Brand Ambassadors from scratch.

How to get started
1. Download the RedPeg app.
Apple: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/redpeg/id1136299240
Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.redpeg.RedPeg
2. Build your profile. This is the part that actually determines how much work you see, so give it ten real minutes.
  • Select every industry you would consider working in. Beverage, automotive, gaming, sports, music, tech, food, hospitality, finance, all of it. Selecting more does not commit you to anything. It just means you find out when something comes up. Selecting only one or two is the fastest way to never hear from us.
  • Select multiple cities. Add your home market, the markets you travel to, the city you visit family in, anywhere you would realistically work a shift. You will get notified when something posts in any of them.
  • Keep your availability current. Our staffing team works from it.
  • Upload a clear, current photo and fill out your sizing, experience and any special skills (bartending, languages, drivers licenses, certifications). Clients ask for these by name.
  • Turn on notifications. Shifts fill fast and they usually fill in the order people respond.
3. Upload your tax documents. Your W-4, I-9 verification and direct deposit information need to be in the app before you can be scheduled. We cannot assign you to a shift or process your payment without them, so get this done when you create your profile and not the night before your first event.
That's it. Once your profile is complete, you will start seeing opportunities in your markets and you can claim the ones that work for you.

One more thing
Our Brand Ambassadors are the ones consumers actually meet. Not the agency, not the client, not the campaign deck. You are the brand for those few minutes, and that is a genuinely fun thing to be good at. Some of our BAs have been with us for years. Some work two events a year. Both are welcome here.
