About the Role:
The Assistant Project Manager plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of commercial construction projects from inception through completion. This position involves coordinating with various stakeholders including contractors, architects, and clients to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget. The Assistant Project Manager will assist in managing change orders, reviewing construction and shop drawings, and maintaining accurate construction schedules. They will also contribute to site development oversight and cost estimation to optimize resource allocation and project efficiency. Ultimately, this role ensures that construction administration processes are executed smoothly, facilitating high-quality project outcomes and client satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction project management or a related role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction and shop drawings.
- Experience with construction scheduling software and cost estimation tools.
- Strong understanding of construction administration processes and change order management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification such as Associate Constructor (AC) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Experience working on commercial construction projects in the United States.
- Familiarity with site development regulations and permitting processes.
- Advanced skills in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills demonstrated through prior project coordination roles.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing commercial construction projects.
- Review and manage change orders to ensure proper documentation and approval.
- Analyze and interpret construction drawings and shop drawings to verify compliance with project specifications.
- Maintain and update construction schedules to track project progress and identify potential delays.
- Support site development activities by coordinating with contractors and subcontractors on-site.
- Prepare and review cost estimates to assist in budget management and financial forecasting.
- Facilitate construction administration tasks including documentation, reporting, and communication with project stakeholders.
