The Location: Taconic Biosciences is seeking a Senior Supervisor Facilities Support to support our Rensselaer site.
The Pay: The position starts at $60,000/yr. Exact compensation may vary based on education, or technical skills directly related to the role.
The Schedule: Monday-Friday, normal first shift hours.

The Role:
The Senior Supervisor Facilities Facilities Support position is responsible for supervising Warehouse and Support functions at the site level. Ensure accurate receiving, inventory control, sterilization, and distribution of raw materials as needed to support internal and external stakeholders. Supports Taconic's strategies and promotes a healthy and safe work environment.
Essential Job Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Monitor workplace performance and lead training initiatives to improve employees. Ensures staff remain up to date with company assigned training.
- Master and maintain accurate records in an ERP system including managing inventory items, running reports, troubleshooting issues and support other system users.
- Coordinates the receiving of material coming into the building(s) by vendors, or other warehouses accurately and promptly.
- Ensures that all received goods are 100% verified against the quantity, description, and expected quality of materials for incoming orders.
- Oversees put-a-way strategies to ensure the optimal organization of products according to correct orientation and environmental capacities.
- Document non-conformances diligently and accurately upon receipt or discovery of damaged goods.
- Perform physical counts in accordance with End of Year and standard Cycle Count schedules.
- Supports the delivery of raw materials within site to locations via transfer order process.
- Ensures site safety by escalating safety concerns and reporting near misses and injuries in accordance with Taconic's policies.
- Coordinates routine servicing on equipment, pallet jacks and vehicles.
- Supports training activities for Taconic Warehouse staff nationally/internationally as needed.
- Support Taconic Hazardous Waste Storage and Disposal program. Including ensuring proper labeling, handling, and the coordination of qualified pickup.
- Assists the department in coordinating the cleaning, loading, autoclaving, and delivery of supplies to animal rooms.
- Assist in the completion of area responsibilities. Verify accurate completion of tasks by area personnel.
- Train and enforce Standard Operating Procedures and established Work Instructions.
- Lead and motivate direct reports.
- Operate as a working supervisor who can step in and support work during absences and PTO.
- Loading, unloading, running, and performing multiple duties at the time.
- Processing (i.e. euthanasia), documenting, and packing surplus animals for sale or disposal.
- Prepares orders for UPS, FedEx, or truck deliveries.
Experience Requirements:
- Experience in skilled or technical assignments requiring previous training to perform operations and resolve problems
- 1-3 years of relevant experience and/or training
- Associates degree (A.A) from a two-year college or technical school, or technical/managerial experience at an equivalent level
- Understanding of LEAN principles and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) helpful.
- Mechanical aptitude helpful.
