ResponsibilitiesThe Sr. Information Systems Engineer works under general supervision to provide systems software and hardware support for a complex computing environment. Installs, tests, maintains, documents systems software and supporting infrastructure. Activities generally deal with operating system software, database management, data networks, and supporting hardware platforms. Provide technical guidance and support to user support personnel and end users. Position will provide technical expertise and support for Boise Cascade Building Materials Distribution’s ERP including application software, database, operating system and hardware.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function. Working conditions are an office environment with minimal physical exertion.
Preferred Qualifications: Prefer bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience. Candidates must be adaptive to technical change and able and willing to acquire skills required to accomplish highly technical tasks. Prior experience working with large scale databases such as Progress or Oracle is preferred. Experience managing an IBM AIX operating system a plus. This position will require database management activities outside normal work hours including nights and weekends. Limited business travel of 10% or less may be required within the continental United States.
