Materials Specialist in at Foresight On-Site

Job Summary

The Materials Specialist is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the flow of materials needed to support daily production and operations. This position works closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, Production, and Shipping to ensure materials are available, properly tracked, and delivered where and when they are needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor material inventory levels and identify shortages or potential delays.
• Coordinate the movement of materials between receiving, warehouse, production, and shipping areas.
• Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming materials.
• Prepare and distribute materials to production according to requirements.
• Maintain accurate inventory records in the company’s ERP or inventory system.
• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory audits.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Communicate material shortages, delays, and other issues to the appropriate departments.
• Work with Purchasing to support material orders and ensure timely availability.
• Review material requirements and help maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Ensure materials are properly stored, identified, and handled.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities as needed.
• Maintain organized and accurate documentation related to materials and inventory.
• Follow company safety, quality, and inventory control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in materials, inventory, warehouse, purchasing, or manufacturing preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately track and manage inventory.
• Basic computer skills and experience using inventory or ERP systems preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility as needed.
• Ability to lift and move materials within the requirements of the position.
• Ability to work safely around manufacturing and warehouse equipment.
