Interior Designer III

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Interior Designer III based in the United States.

The Interior Designer III will join a multidisciplinary design team and contribute to projects across the full interior design lifecycle. Working alongside senior design and technical leadership, you will help translate client needs into thoughtful, functional, and visually compelling environments. The role places particular emphasis on furniture planning and design, including specifications, materials, finishes, and detailed documentation. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, vendors, and clients while maintaining design quality, technical standards, budgets, and schedules. The position also offers opportunities to mentor junior designers, contribute to design leadership, and participate in client-facing activities. You will work across programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration. This remote U.S. opportunity is well suited to an experienced designer who combines strong creative judgment with technical expertise and an ability to manage multiple priorities.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the development of project design goals through programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration under the guidance of senior interior design leadership.
  • Evaluate client needs and translate design objectives and spatial requirements into effective interior solutions, with a strong focus on furniture planning and design.
  • Research, evaluate, coordinate, specify, and support procurement of furniture, fixtures, and equipment throughout applicable project phases.
  • Develop interior design solutions including floor plans, furniture layouts, pattern designs, elevations, details, room finishes, and related documentation.
  • Coordinate interior design standards, technical requirements, and code compliance while collaborating with architecture, engineering, and other consultants.
  • Independently evaluate and select appropriate materials and finishes while consulting with vendors and maintaining alignment with project objectives.
  • Produce accurate drawings and documentation that meet project schedules, budgets, quality expectations, and established design standards.
  • Support project planning, work plans, budgeting, and overall project execution.
  • Participate in and, when requested, lead client meetings, presentations, and design discussions.
  • Mentor and supervise less experienced interior design professionals, providing guidance and helping strengthen team capabilities.
  • Participate in lessons-learned sessions and contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and project delivery.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including site visits, submittal and shop drawing reviews, and punch-list activities.
  • Promote design leadership and contribute to the advancement of interior design practice and quality.
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives when requested.
  • Travel as required for project and business needs.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong experience with furniture planning, specification, and procurement is strongly preferred.
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong interior and furniture design capabilities, including planning, specification, and project implementation.
  • Current NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • Strong design orientation with the ability to develop creative, thoughtful, and functional interior solutions.
  • Independent thinker with the confidence to make informed design decisions and solve complex project challenges.
  • Analytical approach with a strong understanding of design processes, technical requirements, and project constraints.
  • Working knowledge of interior design practices, with the ability to continue developing advanced technical and professional expertise.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, presentation, graphic, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders effectively.
  • Proficiency with Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and communicate design concepts to clients and project partners.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Benefits:

  • Annual salary range of $68,265–$85,285 USD.
  • Eligibility for discretionary bonuses.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Flexible spending account options.
  • Voluntary insurance programs.
  • Paid time off.
  • Flexible work schedules.
  • Remote work options within the United States.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Employee perk programs.
  • Opportunity to contribute to multidisciplinary design projects spanning strategy, architecture, engineering, and interior design.
  • Collaborative environment focused on design quality, innovation, communication, and professional growth.
  • Opportunities to mentor colleagues and participate in design leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and employee community initiatives.
