ispace US is on a mission to make the Moon accessible for humanity, and the Electrical Manufacturing Engineer is central to making that vision real. In this role, you'll own the design, assembly, and quality assurance of electrical systems for lunar landers and spacecraft — ensuring every wire, harness, and component meets the rigorous demands of spaceflight. You'll partner closely with mechanical, systems, and avionics engineering teams to translate designs from concept to flight-ready hardware. Your work sits at the intersection of precision manufacturing and cutting-edge space exploration, directly influencing mission success and the reliability of hardware that will one day land on the Moon.
- Develop test solutions (hardware and software) for characterization and production test of integrated circuits, circuit card assemblies, subcomponent modules, top level modules as well as box module builds for product.
- Create avionics component specifications or drawings, such as for circuit boards or wire harnesses, for flight items and ground support equipment as required.
- Coordinate with component vendors to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Coordinate with systems engineering team to author and manage avionics requirements and verification plans.
- Develop test plans for receiving, in-process, and box assembly phases of product lifecycle
- Develop and review schematics, assembly drawings and manufacturing process flows to assure electrical outcomes throughout the product build cycle.
- Design, model, build, debug, and verify physical hardware for test fixtures, setups, and test interfaces.
- Ability to integrate and operate a variety of lab equipment for testing and debug purposes throughout the process cycle.
- Leverage knowledge to improve electrical manufacturability of product through proficiency and efficiency.
- Assist and mentor junior engineers as appropriate.
- Collaborate in team meetings and activities.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering discipline or related industry.
- 5+ years in electrical test manufacturing engineering experience.
- Experience with requirements definition, decomposition, and verification/validation
- Lab and test equipment skills for the debug, characterization, and validation of designs
- Excellent statistical analysis and electrical engineering skills.
- In-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of operations, engineering and quality.
- Good working knowledge of ISO, AS9100 and quality control standards.
- Experience with operations, engineering and quality processes along with their principles.
- Ability to work with a team along with providing guidance to drive improvements towards process efficiency.
- Excellent communication and liaison skills as an individual.
- Ability to work well within a team driven culture.
- Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a engineering as well as manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
- Engineering knowledge of programming test applications as well as strong knowledge of electronics including the ability to generate/read schematics, assembly drawings, and parts lists.
- AS9100 industry with SPACE experience is a plus.
- Experience with NPI (New Product Introductions) and in transitioning products from the R&D phase into high volume manufacturing is highly desirable.
- Experience with common avionics industry standards for spacecraft design and integration; including, but not limited to, EEE-INST-002, NASA-HDBK-4001, NASA-STD-4003, SMC-S-010, & SMC-S-016, IPC 620, J-STD-001, IPC 7711/7722
The salary posted is a targeted range for budget of position. Base compensation can be negotiated and will be commensurate with experience, skills, education, and training.
