Job Summary:

The Drywall Taper/Finisher is responsible for preparing and finishing drywall surfaces within the tiny home production process. This role includes taping joints, applying compounds, sanding surfaces, and ensuring walls and ceilings are smooth, clean, and ready for painting or finishing. Team members work with a variety of hand and power tools while maintaining high standards for quality, efficiency, and workplace safety. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in drywall finishing, and interior finishing trades.

Key Responsibilities:

Drywall Taping & Joint Finishing Tasks:

Apply tape and multiple coats of joint compound to drywall seams and joints.

Repair imperfections such as cracks, holes, and uneven surfaces.

Use taping knives, mud pans, and other drywall finishing tools effectively.

Ensure smooth finishes that meet company quality standards.

Surface Preparation & Finishing Tasks:

Sand drywall surfaces to prepare for painting or texturing.

Clean and prepare work areas before and after finishing tasks.

Assist with texture application and finishing techniques as required.

Inspect finished surfaces for defects and complete touch-ups as needed.

General Responsibilities:

Follow safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and hazard prevention measures.

Support maintenance of tools, equipment, and a clean, organized workspace.

Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and timelines.

Inspect work for quality and report any issues to supervisors.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational training in drywall applications.

Experience: Previous drywall taping, finishing, or construction experience

Technical Skills:

Knowledge of drywall finishing techniques, tools, and materials.

Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Understanding of surface preparation and finishing standards.

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.

Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Certifications: None required; OSHA safety training or related certifications are a plus.

Work Environment:

On-site at Mytikas Industries’ production facility in Florence, Colorado.

Schedule: Full-Time, with potential for overtime based on production needs.
