POSITION PURPOSE

In this role, you are responsible for supporting and maintaining strong relationships with transportation carriers to ensure efficient freight movement, service reliability, and operational support. This role focuses on carrier communication, performance tracking, issue resolution, and day-to-day coordination between carriers and internal logistics teams.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with carrier partners.
  • Coordinate daily communication regarding shipments, capacity, and service updates.
  • Monitor carrier performance and ensure service expectations are met.
  • Assist with negotiating rates and securing transportation capacity.
  • Resolve shipment delays, service failures, and carrier-related issues promptly.
  • Verify carrier compliance including insurance, contracts, and safety requirements.
  • Support onboarding of new carriers and maintain carrier databases.
  • Collaborate with operations, dispatch, and customer service teams to support customer needs.
  • Track freight market trends and carrier availability.
  • Prepare reports related to carrier performance, pricing, and service metrics.

  • On-time pickup and delivery performance
  • Carrier retention and satisfaction
  • Issue resolution turnaround time
  • Capacity fulfillment rates
  • Compliance accuracy

WORK ENVIROMENT:

  • Office or hybrid setting
  • May require occasional after-hours communication with carriers

COMPENSATION:

  • Salary: $45,000 – $70,000 annually depending on experience and location.
  • Benefits: PTO; 401K; Health Care
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, or carrier relations.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of freight operations and transportation terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Highly analytical with strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and data evaluation skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with truckload (TL), LTL, or freight brokerage operations.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Customer service and conflict-resolution experience.
