Director of Operations Pensacola

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director of Operations – Pensacola in United States.

This senior leadership role is responsible for driving operational performance, program execution, and strategic growth across a portfolio of government and defense-related initiatives. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams and ensure the successful delivery of complex technical and non-technical programs within a highly regulated environment. Acting as a key business leader, you will hold full P&L responsibility while shaping operational strategy, improving efficiency, and strengthening organizational capabilities. The role also blends customer engagement, business development, and proposal leadership to support long-term portfolio expansion. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and government clients to ensure mission success, compliance, and high-quality delivery. This position offers the opportunity to influence both day-to-day execution and long-term strategic direction within a mission-critical domain.

Accountabilities:
  • Provide leadership and oversight for programs, projects, and teams across assigned operational units, ensuring successful execution and delivery
  • Manage full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance alignment with business objectives
  • Develop and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and program effectiveness
  • Lead resource planning and allocation, ensuring the right talent is assigned to critical initiatives
  • Oversee issue resolution and corrective actions through program management structures to ensure timely resolution of escalated challenges
  • Drive business development efforts, including pipeline growth, opportunity identification, and expansion within existing and new markets
  • Lead proposal development activities, coordinating technical input, staffing strategies, and quality assurance
  • Serve as a senior customer-facing leader, managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction
  • Contribute to strategic planning and execution aligned with organizational growth objectives
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in operations, program management, or project management
  • At least 5 years of experience in site leadership, program management, or similar roles in complex environments
  • Strong experience with DoD contracting, including familiarity with acquisition environments and government program structures
  • Experience with cost-type contracts such as Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF) strongly preferred
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and full P&L responsibility
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive performance in complex organizations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at all organizational levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong organizational capabilities
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret clearance (Top Secret eligibility may be required) and be a U.S. citizen
