Physician Billing Associate Specialist

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Physician Billing Associate Specialist in the United States.

This is a remote, entry-level opportunity within a healthcare revenue cycle environment where accuracy, compliance, and attention to detail directly support the financial health of hospitals and physician groups. The role focuses on managing physician billing activities, ensuring claims are processed correctly, and supporting end-to-end revenue cycle operations for healthcare clients nationwide. You will handle billing workflows including claims submission, statement review, correspondence management, and document scanning into patient accounts. The position offers strong exposure to hospital billing systems and payer processes, making it an excellent entry point into healthcare finance and operations. You will work in a structured but supportive environment that values learning, innovation, and continuous improvement, including openness to new tools and technologies. This is a mission-driven role where your work helps ensure providers are accurately reimbursed and patients receive smooth administrative support.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage physician billing activities, ensuring services are billed accurately according to contractual agreements and payer requirements.
  • Review, update, and reconcile client statements to maintain billing accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Process and submit paper and secondary claims, ensuring timely and compliant submission to payers.
  • Handle incoming correspondence, perform follow-ups, and resolve billing-related inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Scan, organize, and update patient documentation within billing and revenue cycle systems.
  • Support insurance follow-up activities and assist in resolving outstanding or rejected claims.
  • Ensure all billing activities comply with regulatory standards and internal quality expectations.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–3 years of experience in hospital or physician billing, revenue cycle, or healthcare finance operations.
  • Familiarity with insurance processes, including Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, and managed care environments.
  • Experience with billing systems such as Epic is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to manage repetitive, high-accuracy tasks.
  • Effective communication skills for handling correspondence and working with internal teams and clients.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with a HIPAA-compliant workspace.
  • Certification (CRCR) required within 6 months of hire.
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $17.00 to $18.65 per hour, based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and wellness programs.
  • Tuition reimbursement and paid certification support (including CRCR certification).
  • Bonus incentives and performance-based recognition programs.
  • Career advancement opportunities within healthcare revenue cycle management.
  • Fully remote work setup with structured onboarding and training support.
  • Employee development programs focused on continuous learning and professional growth.
