This role is focused on leading and transforming front-end patient access operations within a complex healthcare environment, with a strong emphasis on both operational excellence and patient experience. You will oversee registration and admission processes while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all workflows. The position requires a hands-on leader who can actively diagnose operational issues, identify root causes, and implement scalable solutions that improve performance across the revenue cycle. You will manage and develop a high-performing Patient Access team, working closely with supervisors and frontline staff to drive accountability and continuous improvement. A key aspect of the role involves collaborating with offshore teams to ensure alignment, consistency, and smooth end-to-end operations. This is a high-impact leadership position where your work directly influences patient flow, financial performance, and overall service quality.

Accountabilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a Patient Access team, including supervisors and support staff, fostering a high-performance and solution-oriented culture.
  • Oversee daily registration and admission operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a seamless patient experience.
  • Identify operational challenges, perform root cause analysis, and implement scalable process improvements.
  • Collaborate closely with offshore/global teams to align workflows and ensure consistency across patient access operations.
  • Drive initiatives to improve patient flow, registration accuracy, throughput, and bed utilization.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer requirements related to registration, admissions, and billing processes.
  • Oversee auditing and quality assurance activities to maintain data integrity and reduce downstream billing denials.
  • Manage departmental KPIs, performance metrics, budget, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency.
  • Represent Patient Access in cross-functional initiatives and system-wide operational discussions.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in healthcare operations, managing teams of 10 or more.
  • Proven experience in Patient Access, Registration, Admissions, or Revenue Cycle operations.
  • Strong track record of solving complex operational and workflow challenges in healthcare settings.
  • Experience working with or coordinating across offshore or global teams is strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of front-end revenue cycle processes, including registration and admission workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement, operational efficiency, and performance optimization.
  • Experience managing KPIs, budgets, and team performance in a structured operational environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environment requiring hands-on leadership.
