You will work closely with stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and business teams to transform complex requirements into scalable reporting, dashboarding, and analytical solutions. The position plays a key role in ensuring high-quality, compliant, and reliable data that supports informed decision-making across the organization. You'll contribute throughout the full analytics lifecycle—from requirements gathering and testing to implementation and continuous improvement—while helping drive innovation, governance, and operational excellence in a remote-first setting.
- Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements, define key performance indicators (KPIs), and document business and technical needs for analytics initiatives.
- Analyze and profile data from multiple sources, identify data quality issues, perform gap analyses, and recommend validation and reconciliation processes to improve data accuracy.
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications, including data models, ETL/ELT processes, analytical pipelines, and business intelligence solutions.
- Develop and execute testing strategies for dashboards, reports, and predictive models by creating test plans, coordinating user acceptance testing, tracking defects, and validating performance.
- Support analytics solution deployments by preparing operational documentation, monitoring production releases, resolving data discrepancies, and contributing to incident management activities.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, data dictionaries, lineage diagrams, metadata catalogs, user guides, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and data governance stakeholders to ensure consistent data definitions, regulatory compliance, and effective communication across projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve analytics processes through automation, reusable frameworks, self-service capabilities, and continuous monitoring of analytics performance metrics.
- Vocational or technical training, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field, combined with the required level of professional experience in data analytics or data science.
- Minimum of 3–6 years of experience in data analytics, business analysis, or data science, depending on educational background.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, preferably T-SQL, for data analysis, querying, and validation.
- Experience working with data visualization and business intelligence tools to develop dashboards and reports.
- Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), analytics project delivery, testing methodologies, and requirements documentation.
- Knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, data quality practices, and regulatory compliance, including HIPAA-related data handling.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience collaborating with data engineers, BI developers, and cross-functional teams within complex analytical environments.
- Must reside in North Carolina and be available to travel periodically to the Morrisville, NC office for team meetings.
