Director of Technology

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Technology based in Brazil.

This executive leadership role offers the opportunity to shape the future of technology strategy within a fast-growing digital environment.
You will lead the evolution of a high-performance technology organization, combining innovation, scalability, and operational excellence.
The position focuses on building strong engineering leadership, modernizing platforms, and driving an AI-first transformation.
You will work closely with Product and Business teams to turn company strategy into impactful technology solutions.
The role requires a strategic mindset, strong technical depth, and the ability to inspire teams through change and growth.
You will influence architecture decisions, investment priorities, engineering culture, and the long-term technology roadmap.

Accountabilities:

The Director of Technology will be responsible for defining and executing the technology vision, leading engineering transformation, and ensuring the organization is prepared for sustainable growth. This role combines strategic leadership, technical excellence, people development, and business alignment.

  • Define and execute the technology strategy, ensuring a modern, scalable, resilient, and future-ready technology platform.
  • Build and develop a high-performance technology organization by strengthening leadership capabilities and creating future successors.
  • Attract, develop, and retain top technology talent while fostering a culture of autonomy, collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Lead the transition toward an AI-first organization by integrating artificial intelligence into products, processes, and software development practices.
  • Ensure strong alignment between Technology, Product, and Business teams, transforming strategic objectives into measurable outcomes.
  • Drive engineering excellence through modern practices in software architecture, Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, SRE, observability, and continuous delivery.
  • Manage technology as a strategic investment portfolio, balancing innovation, technical debt, security, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee technology budgets, infrastructure decisions, and investment planning to optimize cost, scalability, and business impact.
  • Establish engineering metrics and operating models that support continuous improvement and organizational maturity.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced technology executive with a strong track record of scaling engineering organizations, leading digital platforms, and connecting technology strategy with business outcomes.

  • Proven experience in executive technology leadership positions.
  • Strong background building and scaling high-performance technology organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leaders, create succession plans, and evolve organizational structures.
  • Experience leading technology platforms and digital products at scale.
  • Experience partnering closely with Product and Business teams to define and execute company-wide strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, and cloud computing.
  • Extensive experience with Platform Engineering, DevSecOps, SRE, observability, and continuous delivery practices.
  • Familiarity with engineering metrics such as DORA, SPACE, and Flow Metrics.
  • Experience applying artificial intelligence to improve productivity, automation, and innovation.
  • Experience managing technology budgets, financial planning, and strategic investment allocation.
  • Strategic thinking combined with strong execution and results orientation.
  • Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills at executive level.
  • Ability to balance innovation, speed, quality, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborative leadership style focused on culture, people development, and organizational growth.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in SaaS, B2B, or B2B2C companies experiencing rapid growth.
  • Experience leading organizational transformation and technology modernization initiatives.
  • Previous implementation of AI-first technology strategies.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Economics and technology investment portfolio management.
