This position provides front-desk and administrative support while helping create a safe, welcoming environment for individuals experiencing homelessness. This position combines customer service, clerical responsibilities, and collaboration with staff and community partners to connect guests with resources that promote housing stability and recovery. City Care is searching for the right person with a knack for seeing great potential in others and working as part of a team with the shared goal of motivating change toward that potential. Success in this role requires compassion, strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to remain calm in crisis situations, and a commitment to serving vulnerable populations with dignity and respect.

Responsibilities:
•Carry out the mission, vision, and values of City Care. •Maintain familiarity with community resources and develop a network of collaborative partners. •Encourage guests to engage in services that promote housing stability. •Participate in a culture of professional hospitality, confidentiality, teamwork, and safety among guests, interns, volunteers, staff, and partners. •Answer incoming calls and provide information about shelter services. •Take and document bed reservation requests using established procedures. •Direct calls or messages to the appropriate staff. •Maintain a calm, helpful tone with all callers, including those in crisis. •Receive, log, and sort incoming mail for shelter residents. •Accept, document, and store incoming donations and deliveries appropriately. •Communicate with staff regarding large or urgent donations. •Provide donation receipts as needed. •Perform light clerical duties such as data entry, filing, and updating logs. Maintain a tidy, welcoming reception space. •Assist with occasional special projects or tasks as assigned by shelter leadership. •Coordination with the development team to assist with fundraising tasks and shelter tours as needed. •Coordination with the resource coordinator to assist with shelter events and activities for guests.

Unrelenting Commitment •Understanding of the complexity of the intersection of poverty, homelessness, mental illness, substance use and recovery •Skilled in verbal and written communication •Computer literate, resulting in error-free data entry •Strong communication and customer service skills •A calm, patient, and respectful demeanor, especially with individuals in crisis •Ability to multitask and handle stressful and complex situations •Ability to work as a member of a team to accomplish shared goals •High School diploma or equivalent •Current Oklahoma Driver's License •Pre-employment background check, driving record, and UA •
