Job Description
Position Summary/Objective
The Machine Operator I in Spinning will be trained to run 1 Spinning Frame independently with a focus on quality, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. The Operator will follow standard procedures to efficiently produce high quality products in a timely manner. This position is also accountable for the inspection of goods, and documenting results.
2nd Shift, 2pm - 10:15pm
$18.78/hr - $22.54/hr
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Follow all safety rules, including Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures and use of Personal Protective Equipment including hearing protection.
- Learns to operate 1 Spinning Frame.
- Learns to keep the machine in good working condition by properly cleaning.
- Learns to keep the work area neat and organized according to 5S Standards.
- Works with Supervisor to understand all machine adjustments that have a direct impact on quality and runnability.
- Complete work within expected time frame of production job.
- Learns to understand basics of all components of the machines they have been trained on.
- Learns to collect and record data and ask questions of Supervisor if unsure of instructions.
- Communicate daily with Supervisor regarding any issues or concerns and provide status updates to all shifts.
- Identify quality issues both incoming to the operation and created by the operation.
Competencies, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to operate machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Basic math skills required.
- Flexibility to work overtime as requested and a varied shift as business needs arise.
- Dependability and punctuality a must.
Education & Experience
- Willing to learn.
- Experience or knowledge of manufacturing industry a plus.
