The Department of Athletics is seeking applications for the Assistant Director, Major Gifts role. This position, within the Major Gift and Panther Club team, will directly assist with increasing Major and Annual Giving to Pitt Athletics, including direct support in fundraising for all 19 sports, spirit squad, and band.

Job Summary

Develops and builds partnerships that strengthen existing donor relationships and identifies, cultivates, stewards, and solicits contributions. Develops and facilitates stewardship evaluations and determines corresponding University and prospective interests. Assists in the development of policies and prepares reports for presentation to management.

Essential Functions

Develops and maintains existing donor relationships with Script Society level stakeholders. This position will also identify, cultivate, steward, and solicit contributions from that same level of stakeholder. Generates new Major Giving prospects. In coordination with the Annual Giving, Fan Services and Ticket Sales teams, expands Pitt Athletics relationship with prospective donors to encourage their financial support. Assists Panther Club with efficiency and effective game day donor outreach and stewardship. Assists with reporting and organization of the Major Gifts Team by streamlining other frontline fundraisers to increase efficiency and success. Prospects and meets with new Major Gift donors to grow the current fundraising base and to help find future principal level donors.

Additional details about Required Licensure/Certification: Collegiate Athletics experience strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of work and high-level playing experience may be substituted at the discretion of the University.
