JOB TITLE: Dining Room Supervisor

Reports to: Food and Beverage Manager

Position Summary

Responsible for the supervision of all dining room service personnel. Assures a high level of hospitality and service from all personnel. Makes certain that the appearance and cleanliness of dining room is of the highest standard. Assists with executing club events. Assures that guest expectations are consistently exceeded.

Essential Job Functions

  • Delivers and promotes prompt, courteous and friendly service to all members, guests and employees.
  • Motivates and directs staff members on a daily basis.
  • Trains new staff members.
  • Inspects all member chit tickets for accuracy.
  • Receives, greets and seats members and guests.
  • Suggests and describes menu items; alcoholic beverages and wine to members and their guests.
  • Inspects all linens daily for proper appearance.
  • Inspects all tables before meal service for proper appearance.
  • Handles member feedback and reports complaints to club manager.
  • Assures that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed. Ensures that required staff certifications are fulfilled.
  • Assists in decorating dining rooms for special events.
  • Assures that opening and closing duties are performed by service staff.
  • Monitors all reservations.
  • Assists with Dining room and Banquet service, if needed.
  • Attends staff meetings and pre-shift line-up meetings.
  • Preparing work schedules for personnel.
  • Manages payroll for designated staff.
  • Implements beverage ordering and inventory.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Training

High School Diploma preferred. Must obtain any required local and state licenses or certifications.

Experience/Background/Knowledge

Knowledge of dining room operations required.

Skills

Ability to communicate effectively with managers, guests and employees both verbally and in writing. Must be able to perform basic math computations.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
