Position Summary:

The Screw Machine Operator will safely manage screw machines, ensuring equipment functions efficiently during the machining processes. The individual will adjust settings as necessary to accommodate diverse materials and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Operation:

  • Ensure production maintains accuracy and performance by adjusting tools precisely and configuring machine settings, such as speed and feed, based on material requirements.
  • Regularly inspect output using measuring tools like calipers and gauges to ensure quality. Promptly address any defects or issues to minimize waste and maintain product integrity.
  • Reading and comprehensively understanding job orders and technical documents is crucial for ensuring precise and effective task execution. This involves thoroughly reviewing all instructions and specifications, identifying key requirements, and interpreting any technical terminology.

  • Strong competency in using precision measuring instruments and tools relevant to quality assurance processes.
  • The ability to read and understand job orders, specifications, and technical documents is crucial for accurate task execution.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude, with an ability to effectively diagnose issues in machinery and tools.
  • A thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures is essential to maintain a safe working environment.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; relevant certifications, vocational training, or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a manufacturing environment that is adjacent to the shop work environment. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including, but not limited to, working in close proximity to moving mechanical parts, operating vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. It's important to maintain a high level of alertness and caution while performing tasks in this work environment.
