Avesta Housing is seeking a friendly and service-oriented Store Clerk to oversee the day-to-day operations of our general store and deli at 75 State Street.
In this hands-on role, you'll prepare and stock food items, manage inventory and cash transactions, maintain a clean and organized store environment, and provide outstanding service to residents, visitors, and staff. You'll work closely with the dining team to ensure products are available and operations run efficiently, while helping create a welcoming atmosphere that enhances residents' daily experience. Every day, your work will contribute to a vibrant community where residents feel supported, connected, and cared for.

About 75 State Street
Located in the historic West End neighborhood of Portland, Maine, 75 State Street is a nonprofit senior community offering a continuum of care that includes Independent Living and Assisted Living. What We're Looking For
The person who is ready for this opportunity should meet the following requirements:
- Excellent judgment
- Good communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet facility and state immunization requirements
- One year of cooking experience, preferably in a health care setting.
- Sanitation course certification preferred.
- Under the overall direction of the Executive Chef, must be able to work independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with people effectively.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and stressful situations.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.

This is a part-time, non exempt/hourly position working 12 hours per week on Friday and Saturday. This position has a starting pay range of $17.00 - $18.00 per hour.
