Job Description
Position Summary
Lube Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance services and supporting daily express lube operations while delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality customer service. This position performs vehicle maintenance services, conducts courtesy inspections, and helps ensure an exceptional customer experience while working under the direction of site leadership.
This is a non-exempt, hourly position.
Essential FunctionsThe following duties are considered essential functions of this position:
- Perform preventive maintenance services in accordance with company procedures and applicable manufacturer recommendations
- Check, inspect, and replenish vehicle fluids as appropriate
- Replace air filters, cabin filters, windshield wiper blades, and other designated maintenance items
- Conduct courtesy vehicle inspections and accurately communicate findings
- Verify completed services prior to vehicle release
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition
- Comply with all company safety standards and the Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP)
- Immediately report hazards, incidents, equipment malfunctions, or unsafe conditions
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Explain recommended maintenance services and answer customer questions
- Review completed services with customers and provide maintenance recommendations based on vehicle condition and company standards
- Deliver a positive customer experience that promotes customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Previous automotive maintenance or lube experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment
- Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow safety and operational procedures
- Ability to learn vehicle maintenance procedures and company standards
- Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift)
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach
- Frequently use hands and arms to operate tools and equipment
- Occasionally lift and move items up to 50 pounds
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to automotive fluids, moving vehicles, tools, equipment, and operational noise
