Job Description
Summary/Objective
The primary role for this position is to perform diagnostic, tire repairs, and maintenance procedures on customer vehicles. The Light Duty Mechanic is responsible for delivering efficient, comprehensive service that meets all quality and safety requirements while providing outstanding service to our customers. All work provided must follow company policies, procedures, and industry best practices, and no employee should attempt to do any work for which they have not been trained.
Essential Functions
• Remove and repair or replace tires using proper tools and methods.
• Inspection of damage and repairs to ensure that our customers have safe, reliable transportation.
• Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine servicing, including oil changes, fluid flushes, tire rotations/balancing, and filter replacements.
• Diagnostics: Utilize advanced computerized testing equipment to identify and troubleshoot.
• Testing: Conduct test drives before and after repairs to verify system function and ensure work meets standards.
• Recommend solutions and additional services or products that might be needed in the near future.
• Maintain the standard of cleanliness and orderliness of space and equipment.
• Keep store management informed of service and mechanical repair issues as they occur.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Comply with company safety policy and federal/state OSHA safety requirements, which include but are not limited to the wearing of approved eye/ear protection, proper lifting techniques, and proper footwear.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Observe all rules and procedures as trained and in accordance with Company policy.

Requirements:Education and Work Experience
• TIA Certification preferred.
• ASE certification preferred.
• Mechanical training and automotive experience in a shop environment are required.
Work Environment
- This role involves frequent pushing and lifting of 20 pounds or more, with occasional lifts exceeding 80 pounds, as well as stooping, standing, and bending.
- It takes place in a shop environment with fluctuating temperatures and exposure to grease and engine fluids.
- Safety shoes are mandatory and are supplied through a company cost-sharing program.
