This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Finance - Sales Finance & Public Company Readiness based in United States.
This is a senior finance leadership role focused on Sales Finance, FP&A, public-company readiness, bookings governance, executive reporting, and M&A integration.
You will serve as a strategic finance partner to sales and finance leadership, helping translate business priorities into rigorous financial plans and actionable insights.
The role combines long-range planning, forecasting, expense and headcount management, bookings reconciliation, and executive-level reporting.
You will play an important part in strengthening processes, controls, audit readiness, and compliance as the organization prepares for public-company requirements.
The position also provides significant exposure to M&A, supporting the integration of acquired businesses into the broader operating model.
You will collaborate across Sales, Customer Support, Professional Services, Revenue Operations, and specialized sales functions in a highly cross-functional environment.
As a people leader, you will develop a geographically distributed finance team while using AI-enabled tools to improve planning, analysis, reconciliation, and executive decision-making.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to Sales Finance, Worldwide Field Operations, and sales leadership, providing financial insight and guidance to support growth and transformation objectives.
- Lead core Sales Finance FP&A activities, including long-range planning, forecasting, expense planning, and consolidation of geographic and regional forecasts.
- Own Worldwide Field Operations operating expense and headcount budgets, monitor performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions to finance and business leadership.
- Strengthen public-company and IPO readiness by improving sales-finance processes, internal controls, audit support, and compliance across commissions, bookings, and related activities.
- Own monthly bookings accuracy, consolidation, reconciliation, and close processes, delivering trend analysis and actionable insights to Sales Finance leadership and the Chief Revenue Officer.
- Develop and deliver operational, KPI, executive, and board-level reporting that enables informed decisions across Sales and Finance.
- Serve as the primary finance business partner for current and future M&A activities, supporting integration and the incorporation of acquired organizations into the operating model.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships with Customer Support, Professional Services, Revenue Operations, and sales centers of excellence covering channels, hyperscalers, global systems integrators, security, and related functions.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a geographically distributed team of financial analysts while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Apply AI-enabled tools to build models and agents that improve planning and forecast accuracy, bookings and expense reconciliation, financial analysis, and executive presentations.
- Over the first year, establish reliable reporting and operating rhythms, lead annual and long-range planning, strengthen IPO-readiness initiatives, support M&A integration, and become a trusted strategic finance partner across key commercial and finance functions.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in Sales Finance, FP&A, forecasting, long-range planning, and expense management, ideally within a technology or SaaS environment.
- Current public-company experience is preferred, with familiarity with IPO readiness, financial controls, audit processes, and compliance considered a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated experience with bookings accuracy, consolidation, reconciliation, and commissions-related financial processes.
- Experience supporting M&A integration and partnering with acquired organizations and diverse cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to develop clear, executive- and board-level financial reporting.
- Strong business partnership and influencing skills, with the judgment and integrity to build trust with sales leaders, resolve issues efficiently, and guide important decisions.
- Proven experience leading and developing finance professionals while balancing multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex business requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and Salesforce experience are required.
- Experience with Tableau, Databricks, SQL, and Anaplan is preferred.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools such as Glean, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or ChatGPT to develop models and agents, improve forecasting, reconcile financial data, and create executive-ready presentations.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and comfort operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment are essential.
- Base salary of $159,000–$244,860, plus potential eligibility for a corporate bonus.
