Position Summary

The Production Team Lead in the Pocket Department iis a hands-on production leader responsible for coordinating the daily flow of work across the Pocket area and supporting approximately 12 team members. This position ensures employees have clear priorities, required materials, shop supplies, equipment, work instructions, and timely answers needed to meet safety, quality, delivery, and production expectations. The Team Lead maintains full working knowledge of the Pocket process, monitors daily performance, completes required production and inventory transactions, and communicates issues and results to the Production Supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily Pocket-area workflow, labor assignments, priorities, and movement of work to support the production schedule.
• Provide direct daily guidance and support to approximately 12 team members, answer process questions, and remove routine barriers to production.
• Verify that employees have the correct materials, shop supplies, tools, equipment, specifications, work instructions, and personal protective equipment before and during production.
• Maintain thorough working knowledge of Pocket products, processes, equipment, material requirements, quality checks, and standard work.
• Monitor hourly and daily production results, identify misses or constraints, take timely corrective action within the role, and escalate unresolved issues to the Production Supervisor.
• Hold the work area accountable for meeting established safety, quality, delivery, productivity, housekeeping, and attendance expectations.
• Review shop orders and production priorities; confirm that work is performed to the correct part number, quantity, specification, and due-date requirement.
• Complete accurate and timely backflushing of finished goods and other required production transactions in IFS or the designated ERP system.
• Maintain accurate records of production output, scrap, downtime, material usage, shortages, and work-in-process status.
• Monitor shop-supply levels, request replenishment before shortages interrupt production, and promote responsible use and storage of supplies.
• Train, coach, and cross-train employees on Pocket processes, standard work, safety requirements, quality expectations, and system procedures.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting of process, material, equipment, and system issues and coordinate support from the appropriate department when needed.
• Communicate shift status, production results, shortages, quality concerns, equipment issues, and staffing needs to the Production Supervisor and affected departments.
• Support continuous improvement activities involving workflow, productivity, ergonomics, safety, quality, material flow, and inventory accuracy.
• Work directly in the production process when needed while maintaining oversight of area priorities and team support.
