Custodial Services Supervisor in Russellville, Arkansas at Arkansas Tech University (AR)

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating custodial operations, minor maintenance activities, and laundry services within institutional facilities. This position ensures the cleanliness, safety, and efficient operation of assigned areas while supervising staff and daily functions in accordance with state and federal laws and institutional policies.

• Supervise and provide direction to custodial staff, ensuring work is completed efficiently and in accordance with established standards.
• Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify custodial and minor maintenance needs and ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.
• Establish and implement custodial procedures, work standards, and schedules.
• Coordinate and deliver orientation and ongoing training for staff, including instruction on policies, work procedures, and the proper use and maintenance of equipment.
• Monitor and maintain inventories of supplies, equipment, and materials to ensure operational needs are met.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to custodial and minor maintenance activities.
• Utilize computer systems and software to complete administrative, reporting, and communication tasks.
• Attend training and professional development opportunities, including occasional out-of-state travel as required.
• Work weekends, early mornings, evenings, and extended hours as needed to support departmental operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of supervisory experience.
• Previous experience in housekeeping, custodial operations, facilities maintenance, or a related area.

Main Campus - Russellville, AR

The employee must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Duties require the use of custodial equipment and cleaning chemicals, as well as the ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
