Monarch Investment & Management Group is hiring an Apartment Maintenance Technician at Retreat on 6th Apartments in Cedar Rapids.

If you know your way around plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, HVAC, and apartment turns, we want to talk to you.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

You'll be responsible for keeping the apartment community in great shape and making sure residents receive prompt, professional service.

Your day-to-day work may include:

• Responding to and completing resident maintenance work orders
• Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing and electrical issues
• Performing apartment make-readies and unit turns
• Drywall repair and painting
• Basic carpentry and general repairs
• Interior and exterior maintenance
• Troubleshooting HVAC, boilers, and forced-air systems
• Identifying problems before they become expensive repairs
• Maintaining the property's buildings, apartments, and common areas
• Providing professional customer service to residents
• Working with the property management team to prioritize repairs
• Participating in a rotating 24/7 emergency on-call schedule approximately every 34 weeks

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a dependable, hands-on problem solver who takes pride in doing quality work.

Required

• 1+ year of general maintenance experience
• Experience with drywall, painting, and basic carpentry
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication
• Professional approach to working with residents
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to participate in the rotating on-call schedule

A PLUS

Experience with any of the following will make you stand out:

• Apartment or multifamily maintenance
• HVAC
• Boilers
• Forced-air systems
• Appliance repair
• Preventive maintenance

• EPA certification
