Job Description
As the Sales Lead, you will support the General Manager in driving sales performance and delivering exceptional customer experiences throughout the store. You will take ownership of the selling culture by leading through example, fostering meaningful customer relationships, and supporting the development of associates through coaching and partnership. Working closely with the General Manager, Operations Lead, and all store associates, you will help create an engaging, service-driven environment that inspires customers and delivers results. This is a hands-on and flexible role that requires balancing customer engagement, selling, operational support, and broader store priorities. You will be empowered to identify opportunities, solve problems, and drive results while partnering closely with the General Manager to achieve the overall success of the business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as a primary keyholder, executing store opening/closing procedures, secure store access, and overall store supervision in the absence of the General Manager
- Support the General Manager in achieving sales goals through exceptional customer experiences, coaching, and sales leadership
- Lead by example to consistently achieve individual and store sales goals while inspiring others through personal selling behaviors and results
- Foster a customer-first selling culture built on meaningful engagement, relationship building, and personalized service—not simply completing transactions
- Build and maintain lasting customer relationships through proactive outreach, follow-up, and consistent communication before and after the sale
- Leverage available sales tools, customer information, and business resources to identify opportunities, generate repeat business, and grow customer loyalty
- Coach and support associates through real-time selling, product knowledge, customer engagement, and best practices that drive sales and long-term customer relationships
- Encourage associates to identify customer needs, present solutions, overcome objections, and confidently guide customers throughout the sales journey
- Partner with the Operations Lead and store leadership to ensure customers receive a seamless experience from purchase through delivery or pickup
- Execute visual merchandising standards, floor sets, product styling, and daily floor presentation to create an elevated brand experience
- Assist with local store marketing and social media engagement by creating/capturing product content and promotional highlights as directed
- Analyze daily business opportunities and recommend actions to maximize sales performance and customer satisfaction
- Support broader store execution, communication, and administrative responsibilities in partnership with the General Manager and leadership team
- Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and contribute ideas that strengthen store performance
- Represent the brand through polished communication, personal appearance and professionalism
- 2+ years of experience in furniture, luxury retail, specialty retail, or a related sales environment
- Prior keyholding, supervisory, or store opening/closing experience required
- Proven ability to consistently exceed individual sales goals while contributing to overall store performance
- Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and motivate others through leadership by example
- Eye for visual merchandising, product placement, and aesthetic floor styling
- Familiarity with social media platforms and enthusiasm for brand-appropriate content capture preferred
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and building long-term customer relationships
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced retail environment
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing business needs while supporting a broad range of store responsibilities
- Proficient with current technology, including iPads, Mac, and PC
- Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 75 lbs., while utilizing appropriate equipment and adhering to safety guidelines
- Ability to maneuver effectively around sales floor and stockroom
- Position entails prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing
- Full time associates are expected to have open availability to meet the needs of the business.
