About the role:

As an Electrical Service Technician based in Dunedin, you'll deliver high-quality electrical services across a range of commercial and industrial customer sites. Working both independently and as part of the wider service team, you'll carry out planned maintenance, reactive and remedial work, fault diagnostics and electrical installations. You'll be responsible for:

• Carrying out planned maintenance, reactive and remedial electrical work
• Diagnosing faults and completing electrical repairs and installations
• Maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, instrumentation and control systems
• Interpreting technical drawings, specifications and wiring diagrams
• Testing completed electrical work to ensure safety and compliance
• Completing required documentation, including electrical certificates and reports
• Building strong relationships with customers and delivering excellent service
• Supporting and sharing your knowledge with other team members, apprentices and trainees
• Participating in the 24-hour standby/call-out roster as required
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to relevant New Zealand standards and regulations
  

About you:

You're a qualified and experienced electrician who takes pride in quality workmanship, works safely and provides great service to customers. You're comfortable managing your own workload while also contributing positively to the wider team. You'll bring:

• Registration as an Electrician with a current EWRB NZ Practising Licence
• A current NZ Driver Licence
• Commercial and industrial electrical experience, including installation work
• Ideally, 5+ years' post-trade experience
• Sound knowledge of relevant electrical regulations, standards and Codes of Practice
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• The ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, plans and technical information
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Strong time management and the ability to work independently
• A practical, safety-focused approach and commitment to high-quality workmanship
• First Aid/CPR training and additional skills such as Electrical Inspector or Project Management would be advantageous
