Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily Repair & Overhaul activities to meet production priorities, quality requirements, and customer commitments.
  • Assign work and resources based on workload, technician skills, production schedules, and business needs.
  • Monitor work orders, production progress, turnaround times, and priorities; address delays and escalate issues as needed.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to R&O technicians and Leads.
  • Ensure employees follow approved procedures, work instructions, travelers, engineering requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Monitor quality, workmanship, documentation, and compliance with established processes.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, and other departments to resolve production, material, technical, and quality issues.
  • Support workforce planning, training, cross-training, and development of R&O employees.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, productivity, and adherence to company policies and expectations.
  • Conduct shift meetings and ensure effective communication of priorities, open work, production issues, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor department performance metrics, including turnaround time, on-time delivery, productivity, quality, and rework.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow, productivity, quality, and overall department efficiency.
  • Assist the Manager with production planning, staffing needs, process improvements, and departmental initiatives.
  • Support compliance with FAA Part 145, AS9100, safety, quality, environmental, and company requirements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions related to production, quality, safety, and customer issues.
  • Ensure accurate completion of production records, work orders, travelers, and other required documentation.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Escalate significant personnel, safety, quality, technical, or production concerns to the Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of Repair & Overhaul, aerospace manufacturing, production processes, and quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of FAA Part 145 requirements and aerospace quality systems preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, work instructions, travelers, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and allocate resources based on changing production requirements.
  • Strong leadership and employee coaching skills.
  • Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a positive and professional work environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, and other support functions.
  • Ability to monitor and interpret production and operational metrics.
  • Ability to identify and escalate safety, quality, production, and employee relations concerns.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and production documentation systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
