Direct Support Professional (DSP) – Autism & Behavioral Support in Mishawaka, Indiana at Maweh Solutions LLC

Maweh Solutions is seeking a compassionate, patient, and experienced Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide individualized, one-on-one support to a school-aged child with autism in Mishawaka, Indiana.

We are particularly interested in candidates with Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) experience or a strong background supporting nonspeaking children with developmental disabilities.

The ideal candidate understands alternative communication methods, positive behavioral support, structured routines, and the importance of maintaining a safe and supportive environment.

• Provide individualized support with daily living activities in the home and community.
• Encourage communication using AAC devices, visual supports, and other established communication methods.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, and toileting routines.
• Support structured recreational and developmental activities.
• Implement established behavioral support and safety plans.
• Provide attentive supervision and support safe transitions between activities.
• Assist with mealtime routines according to individualized dining and safety guidelines.
• Promote independence, social interaction, and participation in preferred activities.
• Communicate professionally with the family and care coordination team.
• Complete required documentation and Electronic Visit Verification (EVV).

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous experience supporting nonspeaking children with autism or developmental disabilities.
• RBT certification or previous RBT experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with AAC devices and alternative communication methods.
• Experience following positive behavioral support strategies.
• Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to behavioral and sensory challenges.
• Comfortable assisting with personal care, hygiene, and toileting.
• Ability to follow individualized safety protocols and maintain attentive supervision.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
• Flexibility to accommodate a variable weekday schedule.
• Ability to complete required background screenings, CPR/First Aid, HCSP training, and applicable onboarding requirements.
