POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Buyer/Planner instrumental in new supplier sourcing, buying, leading cost negotiations, managing supplier performance, initiating Value-Engineering / Component-Engineering activities, managing commodities through various means including developing market sourcing strategies. Also, creates and maintains a production schedule that proactively ensures seamless material flow to the manufacturing operations in a level-loaded fashion while analyzing demand trends and capacity requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience planning in a manufacturing setting, a strong sense of urgency, and will support a positive and fun work environment.
Reports to: Senior Manager of Strategic Supply Chain
Location: Eden Prairie, MN office
Starting Salary Range: $85,000-$95,000
Key Responsibilities: Supervisory Responsibilities
This role has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilize MRP to buy production parts as well as support manufacturing via MRO purchasing
- Lead, facilitate and drive weekly and monthly schedule reviews with the Customer Team to ensure the plan is up to date and meets customer schedules
- Support purchasing strategies to achieve Quality, Cost, and Delivery performance objectives to improve operational efficiency and profitability
- Identify and support the qualification of new suppliers as needed to support cost optimization, quality improvement, and supplier rationalization objectives
- Understand the capabilities of the machines, production shifts, receiving, and shipping to develop the schedule and update Intuitive (ERP) to reflect those changes
- Determine the detailed material requirements so that work orders can be released along with job packets to the production floor
- Work with Engineering Program Mangers on facilitating pre-production builds to the floor for assembly
- Generate, analyze, and disseminate key reports on order status, Sales, build, and inventory levels
- Manage inventory levels at all 3 stages (raw, wip, and finished) and report issues to the Senior Director of Manufacturing Operations and the CFT
- Analyze monthly forecast exceptions to determine inventory impact collaborate with customer business office to respond to customer demands
- Coordinate analysis and negotiation for customer business office for Excess & Obsolete (E&O) claims
- Utilize Lean tools to improve/redesign processes
- Other possible job duties could include RMA tracking, Export Compliance, and some Project Management.

Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field
- Minimum of 4 years experience in a planning/scheduling environment
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 5 years of project management
- Additional experience or education may substituted for each other
- Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project) required
- Knowledge of business systems including documentation and ERP/MRP environments
- Skilled in Lean Principles
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills and strong negotiation skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to read, write and otherwise communicate effectively in English
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong sense of urgency, and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities to ensure superior customer satisfaction
Required Qualifications:
- PMP or CPIM certification

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full-time, on-site position
- Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8am -5pm, but does allow for some flexibility
- It may be necessary to work more than 40 hours per week at times to produce the required results
