Job Description
A Coil Receiving job involves unloading, inspecting, and documenting incoming material shipments (like steel or aluminum coils, blanks), operating heavy machinery (forklifts, cranes) to move and store them, staging them for production, and performing cycle counts, with a strong focus on safety due to the weight and sharp edges of the materials. Key duties include verifying shipments against purchase orders, maintaining accurate records, ensuring proper storage, and keeping the receiving area clean and organized.

Toledo Tool & Die is adding a Coil Receiving/ Material Handler to our team to support our continued growth.

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:00pm

- · Receiving & Verification: Unloading trucks, checking shipments against packing slips/POs, inspecting coils for damage. Checking material to make sure it is the correct spec, using micrometers and or tape measure.
- · Material Handling: Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other equipment to move, stack, and stage coils.
- · Documentation: Completing receiving reports, updating inventory systems, and processing paperwork.
- · Storage & Staging: Placing coils in designated storage areas and preparing them for production lines.
- · Inventory Control: Performing physical counts (cycle counts) of coils.
- · Safety & Maintenance: Conducting daily equipment inspections (cranes, chains), cleaning work areas, and adhering to safety protocols.
- Essential Skills & Qualifications:
- · Experience with heavy machinery (forklift/crane operation) is often required or beneficial.
- · Ability to read work orders and follow instructions.
- · Attention to detail for quality checks and record-keeping.
- · Ability to read tape measure and micrometers.
- · Strong understanding of safety procedures for handling heavy materials.
