About the Role:

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a critical role in managing and maintaining accurate inventory records to ensure optimal stock levels and efficient supply chain operations. This position is responsible for monitoring inventory movements, conducting regular audits, and reconciling discrepancies to prevent stockouts or overstock situations. The specialist collaborates closely with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to forecast demand and support timely replenishment. By implementing effective inventory control procedures, the role helps minimize costs and improve overall operational efficiency. Ultimately, the Inventory Control Specialist ensures that inventory data integrity supports business objectives and customer satisfaction across the organization. This is a dual-location position supporting operations in Oshkosh and Lomira.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher in business, supply chain, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain management.
  • Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate accurate reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related discipline.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
  • Knowledge of lean inventory practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., APICS CPIM).
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor daily inventory levels and update records to reflect accurate stock counts.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory audits and cycle counts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and warehouse teams to coordinate timely stock replenishment and reduce excess inventory.
  • Analyze inventory trends and generate reports to support forecasting and decision-making processes.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures and best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances by identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management systems and processes.

Skills:

The Inventory Control Specialist utilizes analytical skills daily to interpret inventory data and identify trends that impact stock levels. Attention to detail is essential when performing audits and reconciling discrepancies to maintain data accuracy. Proficiency in inventory management software and Excel enables efficient tracking and reporting of inventory status. Communication skills are applied when coordinating with procurement, warehouse, and sales teams to align inventory activities with business needs. Additionally, problem-solving skills support the identification of root causes for inventory variances and the implementation of corrective actions to improve processes.
