Accountabilities:

Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of up to 5 software engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
Drive technical direction and review system designs to ensure scalability, reliability, security, and long-term platform alignment
Participate in hands-on engineering work when needed, including code reviews and technical guidance on architecture decisions
Own and improve agile development processes to ensure consistent, predictable, and high-quality product delivery
Partner with product teams to accelerate feature development and reduce technical debt across the platform
Ensure strong planning, prioritization, and communication practices to meet delivery commitments and stakeholder expectations
Recruit, interview, and hire engineers aligned with organizational values and technical standards
Promote developer productivity and continuously improve engineering practices, tools, and workflows
Support cross-functional collaboration to solve complex technical challenges and deliver impactful solutions

Requirements:

6+ years of experience in software engineering and engineering management, with a strong record of delivering complex product features
Proven experience leading small engineering teams in Agile, fast-paced, distributed environments
Strong technical background with the ability to contribute to architectural discussions and code-level reviews
Demonstrated success improving developer experience, engineering efficiency, and team velocity
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity
Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on coaching and team development
Experience working with modern cloud-based architectures; familiarity with technologies such as AWS, Kubernetes, and distributed systems is a plus
Interest in healthcare or clinical research technology is highly valued
Comfortable using modern AI tools and understanding their impact on software development workflows
